Michiko has experience as a pediatric nurse and public health nurse in Japan. After she moved to Australia, she started to work at the childcare centre in Ayres Rock resort near Uluru. She saw the way educators respect children’s freedom and encourage play based learning in the natural environment and it resonated with her. Since she moved to Melbourne, she has been certified in children’s services and gained experience in a local early learning centre. In 2014, she started her own family day care at her home, then continued until she had her third child.
